Our electric cooperatives in Kentucky have a diverse energy mix, including conventional and renewable sources, and are committed to delivering energy in the most sustainable and cost-effective way possible. We generate renewable power from sources such as solar panels and methane gas from landfills, and also purchase hydropower. As part of the PJM Interconnection, the largest market grid in North America, we have access to a wide range of conventional and renewable fuel types, allowing us to provide our members with the energy options they prefer, including 100 percent renewable energy.
At Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, we offer financial incentives to help new and expanding companies access programs designed to encourage industrial growth. Our Economic Development Rider (EDR) provides reduced electric rates over time for qualifying projects, and our Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program (REDLG) offers low-interest loans and grants for businesses creating or retaining jobs in our service territory. Additionally, the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development offers state incentives.
